Nepean Hospital

Nepean Hospital is located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Penrith NSW, Australia. Penrith lies on the Nepean River and is one of the fastest growing areas in Sydney.  Access by car or public transport to Sydney City is less than 60 minutes away and also to all the attractions of the Blue Mountains National Park, such as the Three Sisters or further west again the world famous Jenolan Caves.

 

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is responsible for providing community health and hospital care for people living in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. The District consists of both urban and semi-rural areas, covering almost 9,179 square kilometres and an estimated resident population of almost 350,000 people.

 

Nepean Hospital is a 520-bed teaching hospital and regional trauma centre, providing tertiary referral services for the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.  It is co-located next to Nepean Private hospital which is a 109 bed facility and hosts a clinical school for the University of Sydney.

Nepean Hospital has 14 Orthopaedic Consultants, 3 Advanced Trainee Registrars and 7 Junior Registrars. 

 

Due to the Characteristics of the Centre both Foot and Ankle Trauma, sports injuries and arthritic conditions are treated in line with the latest research. It is specialise in deformity correction, Talo Spatial Framing, infection management and lower limb reconstruction, In addition the centre also treats complex diabetic foot conditions tailored to the needs of the area and has a multidisciplinary High Risk Foot centre.
