Thomas Addison, Thomas Hodgkin, Richard Bright and Alfred Poland are among a number of other eminent physicians and surgeons who worked at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), a collaboration between King’s College London (KCL), Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts. King’s is the largest centre for the education of doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals in Europe. Within the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine, the King’s College London GKT School of Medical Education is responsible for the education and training of medical students.


The Department of Orthopaedics of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of London's leading orthopaedic departments and a centre of excellence, offering the full range of specialist Orthopaedic services. The Department of Orthopaedics is also a member of the Specialist Orthopaedic Alliance.

 

In the Department of Orthopaedics we perform around 1500 foot and ankle operations annually. These are the whole spectrum of forefoot, hind-foot and ankle surgeries. We perform an above average number of hind-foot reconstructions for inflammatory, Neurological, haematological or hereditary deformities as well as total ankle replacements and revision total ankle replacements using custom implants. Research opportunities are also available for fellows.
