Announcement – Dr. Wegmann new Member of the IBRA Research & Education Committee Upper Limbs

Kilian Wegmann elected as new Member of the Research and Education Committee Upper Limbs

On behalf of our members, we would like to congratulate Dr. Wegmann from the University of Cologne on his election to the IBRA Research & Education Committee Upper Limbs. The cooperation between IBRA and the University of Cologne and Dr. Kilian Wegmann and Professor Lars Peter Müller dates back many years.

One example is the innovative method of replicating lifelike fractures on anatomical specimens, which was developed in close collaboration between the two institutions. The first course with pre-fractured specimens was organized in Cologne in 2013. Since then, this close to reality hands-on training method has become an integral part of the IBRA Master Courses. It has been implemented by IBRA in many countries so that surgeons from Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia-Pacific can take advantage of it.

Dr. Wegmann, Professor Müller and their team from the IBRA Training Center at the University of Cologne also support the international exchange of surgeons through the IBRA Scholarship Program.

In addition, Dr. Wegmann is 2nd Vice President of the German Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. We therefore look forward to a continued close cooperation between the two societies.

We warmly welcome Dr. Kilian Wegmann to the IBRA Research & Education Committee Upper Limbs and wish him every success in his new role!
