About the webinar:
Progressive foot deformity in Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease appears in young patients. The aim of the treatment should be to preserve joint motion, balance the foot and prevent progression to a rigid and symptomatic deformity. The surgery involves a combination of soft-tissue releases, tendon transfers, ostetotomies and selective arthrodeses. Joint preserving surgery is prefereable in these patients whenever possible.
